A Plex library is only as good as the distance between deciding and watching. MediaPond connects your server, puts the library on the tablet, and sends what you picked to the room you want it in, handling the television, the streamer and the input on the way where those devices are supported.*
Connecting your server
You sign in to Plex once, MediaPond finds your server, and the library appears in the app. Where the server sits on your own network, browsing and launching stay local.
From there Plex sits beside everything else you could watch, so films from your server and films from a streaming service are the same kind of thing in the browser. You are choosing what to watch rather than choosing an app first.
Launching to a room rather than to a device
Pick something and choose the room. MediaPond opens the title in the Plex app on that room’s television or streamer and brings the room up around it, so the screen wakes, the input moves to the device that will play it, and playback begins.
The same library therefore behaves consistently in the living room, the bedroom and the room with the projector, without you having to remember which device is where.
While it plays
Playback appears in the Now Playing dock with artwork, progress and transport controls, so pausing your own media works like pausing anything else, and volume goes wherever the room’s sound goes.
If the room also has a local-file player, both libraries sit in the same browser and the tap is the same either way.
What MediaPond does not do is get between your server and your screen. It does not transcode, restream or proxy anything, and it holds no copy of your library, so the quality you get is whatever your server and the Plex app on that device negotiate between themselves. If Plex changes its apps, which it does from time to time, what can be opened directly may change with them.

Does MediaPond replace the Plex app on my TV?
No, it drives it. The Plex app on the television or streamer does the playing, while MediaPond browses, decides the room, and asks it to open the right title.
Do I need a Plex Pass?
No. MediaPond uses your existing Plex server and account as they are.
Can I browse Plex on a phone and play on the TV?
Yes, and that is the usual way to use it. The phone or tablet is the browser and the remote, while the room’s device is the player.

Not every device or streaming app supports direct launching. MediaPond makes a good-faith, best-effort attempt to open content in the right app, and falls back to opening the app itself where a direct link is not available. Availability varies by device, app, region, and your subscriptions.
